Spicy miso pasta is a spicy version of carbonara with miso paste introduced into the sauce. These two additional ingredients will add a beautiful creamy texture to the original carbonara recipe, along with more complex flavors. In only 15 minutes, you will prepare a palatable dish that will enchant you with its simplicity and a perfect balance of tastes.
Spicy Miso Pasta Recipe
A luxurious spicy miso pasta recipe which pairs bacon with a decadent cheesy miso cream sauce.
Ingredients
- 11 oz. spaghetti
- 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
- 1 large shallot, chopped
- 5 oz. bacon, cut into strips
- 3 tablespoons light miso paste
- 4 egg yolks, large
- 1 cup Parmigiano Reggiano, grated
- cayenne pepper, to taste
- black pepper, to taste
- parsley, chopped, to taste
Instructions
- Heat extra virgin olive oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Add shallot and cook until lightly golden. Set aside.
- Add bacon to the skillet and cook until crispy. Combine it with shallot and let it cool.
- Cook the pasta according to the package instructions.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine miso paste, cayenne pepper, grated Parmigiano, and lightly beaten egg and egg yolks.
- Drain the pasta and mix it with bacon.
- Transfer the pasta with bacon in the bowl with miso and egg mixture and mix well to combine.
- Season with black pepper and garnish with chopped parsley.
- Serve and enjoy.
Notes
- You can replace chopped parsley with chives.
- Add one more egg yolk for a more creamy texture.
- Remember to drain the pasta one minute before the time indicated on the package instructions, as it should be “al dente”.
