Season a pot of water with salt and bring it to a boil. Once the water starts to boil, add the pasta and cook it according to the package instructions or until al dente. Drain the pasta, reserving some of the pasta water.
Add butter to a skillet and place it over medium heat.
Once the butter melts, add minced garlic and sauté for 30 to 40 seconds until fragrant.
Now add the halved cherry tomatoes and cook for a minute or two.
Season with Italian seasoning, black pepper, and salt.
Add a splash of pasta water and mix well.
Stir in the cooked pasta.
Add parmesan cheese, setting aside about two tablespoons for garnish.
Stir everything together and garnish the dish with grated parmesan cheese and fresh basil leaves. Enjoy!
