Pasta al Limone Recipe
A luxurious Pasta al Limone recipe which pairs fettuccine pasta with a decadent lemon sauce.
Ingredients
- ½ pound Fettuccine Pasta, dried
- 3 tablespoons Butter, unsalted
- 2 cloves Garlic, minced
- 1 Lemon, juiced
- Lemon Zest
- Black Pepper, to taste
- Salt, to taste
- ½ cup Parmesan cheese, finely grated
- Basil leaves, optional garnish
Instructions
- Bring a pot of water to boiling point. Add pasta and cook it until al dente. Reserve a cup of the starchy pasta water, then strain the noodles and set them aside.
- Meanwhile, put a large skillet over medium heat, and add butter.
- After the butter melts, add garlic to the pan and cook for 30 seconds.
- When the pasta is ready, drain the water and transfer it to the skillet with the garlic. Pour ½ cup of the reserved pasta water over the pasta.
- Turn the heat to medium-high and use tongs to mix the pasta and sauce. Keep tossing the pasta until the sauce becomes shiny and coats the noodles. If the pasta gets too dry, you can add a little bit more of the reserved pasta water.
- Add the lemon zest and freshly squeezed lemon juice to the pan. Sprinkle parmesan cheese over the pasta and mix.
- Season with salt and pepper and mix again. When the pasta is ready, transfer it to serving plates and serve with extra Parmesan cheese and pepper on top. Serve hot and enjoy!
Notes
- You can use bucatini or tagliatelle pasta if you prefer.
- Zest the lemon before extracting its juice for your pasta al limone.
- If the cheese starts to clump up, keep tossing the pasta and add small amounts of pasta cooking water as needed.
