What’s this baked TikTok feta pasta recipe?
This baked feta pasta recipe only requires 3 ingredients: feta, cherry tomatoes, and a pasta of your choice. Combine that with the fact that this is one of the quickest and easiest dinners of all time (it takes less than an hour and barely requires any monitoring), and you have a recipe for success! No wonder it went viral on TikTok!
Now while there are several different variations floating around out there (and even several different people who contributed to the recipe’s success), the foundation of the recipe is the same.
1. The Easy Baked Feta Pasta
3 ingredients: feta, cherry tomatoes, and pasta (garlic, basil, and spices are optional)
- Step 1: In an oiled baking pan, place feta at the center (preferably a block vs crumbles), with cherry tomatoes surrounding it. Coat the feta and tomatoes with more olive oil to prevent from burning.
- Step 2: Bake in the oven until the feta melts and the tomatoes burst.
- Step 3: Pour cooked pasta into the dish, and give it a good stir. (Optional: add more olive oil, garlic, spices, basil, etc)
2. Proseccospaghetti and Oven Tomatoes (Published in 2018)
Tiiu’s version posted on Lainahoyhenissa in 2018 was the first instance that we were able to track down online. It is a fantastic version of this pasta recipe as it uses Prosecco, honey, onions, and thyme, which provides such an amazing flavor profile. The author also recommends adding arugula and prosciutto, which really takes this dish to the next level!

3. Oven Feta Pasta / Uunifetapasta (Published in 2019)
Jenni over at Liemessa is credited for making this baked feta pasta dish viral in Finland. She recommends cramming as many cherry tomatoes as possible into the baking pan, and also placing 2 garlic cloves in while baking. Her version is simple, sophisticated, and slightly spicy with the added chili pepper. It is absolute perfection when topped off with some fresh basil. #uunifetapasta

4. Baked Feta Pasta with Cherry Tomatoes, Garlic, & Basil
This is the recipe that went viral on TikTok, and really put it on the map for the US. MacKenzie from Grilled Cheese Social heard about the Finland recipe from one of her friends and decided to do a version of her own. Not only did the blog post go viral, but her TikTok video of it has over 1.2 million views (at the time of writing this).
Her version is very similar to Liemessa’s except she uses bowtie pasta, which we think is easier to thoroughly coat in the melty cheese sauce. The reason why her version is so popular is because she’s the first person to demonstrate in a video format. Once you see how MacKenzie does it, you realize how foolproof it really is.

5. Baked Feta and Broccoli Pasta
Want to change it up with a different flavor profile? Check out this new version! Instead of the tomatoes and garlic, this recipe uses broccoli and lemon which work so well with the feta. This is a great recipe for if you don’t have tomatoes on hand, and we also think this would be a great summer-time dish.

6. Baked Feta (Vegan and Gluten-Free Version)
If you are vegan or gluten-free (or both) then this recipe is for you! This recipe also comes in handy if the full-dairy version of feta is sold out in your area (cause let’s be honest, it might be right now). We recommend Violife vegan feta and Barilla gluten-free pastas, but feel free to use any that you already prefer.

7. Baked Feta with Tomatoes and Chickpeas on Focaccia Bread
This is a perfect version of the recipe if you’re looking for a lunch or snack version. Instead of a full pasta dish, this recipe uses the baked tomato/feta cheese as a dipping sauce for focaccia bread. Such a great idea, and would be so good for a gathering or BBQ. Plus the chickpeas add such a nice flavor to the sauce.

8. Baked Feta Pasta Ultimate Guide
While this recipe isn’t all too different from the others out there, we wanted to list this recipe because of how thorough it is. Not only did the author of this recipe take step-by-step pictures of the process, but she has so many nuggets of info listed throughout.
She goes through and lists substitution ideas, tips and tricks, along with some FAQs. This is actually the first version of the recipe we tried, so we wanted to make sure we recommended it. If you’re looking for the ultimate guide on the TikTok baked feta pasta, then this is the recipe for you!

Looking for the TikTok Pasta without Feta?
If you want to try this TikTok trend but aren’t a fan of feta, here are some feta substitutions that you can use in this recipe! We’ve seen lots of people try it with burrata, cream cheese, blue cheese, queso fresco, and any other cheeses you think will melt well in the oven. But our absolute hands-down favorite feta sub is brie! Check out this recipe below.
9. Baked Brie Pasta
Don’t get me wrong, we love the baked feta pasta trend, but there’s something you have to understand here…we’ve been fans of brie since the dawn of time! So we were thrilled when we realized that you can do the baked feta pasta trend with brie instead. There is just a level of decadence and luxury that brie has over every single cheese in the entire world (I know, sound biased much?). But try it with brie, and then come report back to us. We have a feeling you’ll agree with us! 😉
