Taco Lasagna Recipe
A luxurious Taco Lasagna recipe which pairs tortillas, beef, and beans with a decadent cheese, salsa, and guacamole topping.
Ingredients
- 6 Flour Tortillas , 8 inch or larger
- 1 tablespoon Olive Oil
- 1 pound Ground Beef
- ½ cup Onion, diced
- 2 Garlic Cloves, minced
- ⅓ cup Water
- 2 tablespoons Taco Seasoning
- 1 ¾ cups Black Beans, from cans, drained and rinsed
- 1 ½ cup Salsa, chunky
- 1 cup Mexican Cheese, shredded
- 1 cup Cheddar Cheese, shredded
- 1 cup Guacamole
- Sour Cream, for garnish
Instructions
- Add olive oil to a large pan and place it over medium heat. When the oil is hot, add onion and sauté for a minute or two or until soft. Add garlic and sauté until it is fragrant.
- Add the beef and continue to cook and break down the meat into small chunks. Meanwhile, preheat an oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Add water and taco seasoning mix and mix well. Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer for 10 minutes or until the water evaporates. Once done, set aside.
- Take a square baking dish or oven safe pan and place tortillas in it. Spread the beef mixture and top it with black beans. Then spread salsa and guacamole over the beans. Sprinkle some of the cheese on top.
- Place a tortilla over the cheese and continue adding layers of cooked beef, black beans, salsa, guacamole, and cheese.
- Repeat until you have used up all the tortillas. Bake the taco lasagna for 15 minutes if you want it to have melty cheese.
- Let the dish cool for 10 minutes then garnish with salsa, black beans, guacamole, and sour cream. Enjoy!
Notes
- To reduce the cooking time, simply broil the taco lasagna for a few minutes (before adding the garnishes) to melt the cheese.
- Add corn, bell peppers, or sliced jalapenos to your seasoned beef for added texture and flavor.
